Got excuses?

Excuses.

We all make them.

You know you want to lose weight or exercise regularly.

You know you want to make better food choices, but….

You negotiate instead.

You tell yourself that a little won't matter.

That you'll start tomorrow.

You give in to what you want in the moment.

You let your emotions have a vote, even though you already made a decision to do the thing that moves you towards your goals.

You're arguing for what you DON'T want instead of asking good questions to get what you DO want.

Instead of justifying overeating by telling yourself you're tired, so you deserve a “treat," ask yourself…..

What else could I choose in this moment?

Do I want to continue to reinforce that belief?

What choice can I make tonight that will make me wake up proud in the morning?

Taking a moment to pause and ask good questions helps you to be more honest in the moment. Don't sugar coat your excuses.

Be honest with yourself.

"If I choose to eat or drink this thing I hadn't planned on, I will wake up with regret tomorrow. I am trading what I want in the moment for the thing I really want to achieve."

Questioning your thoughts and answering honestly are the process you go through to convince yourself to make a vote toward or away from the person you want to be.

What choices are you making this week that move you toward your goals?

Vote for your future self this week.
